What is a Lumper?

In the context of warehousing and distribution, a lumper is a person hired to load or unload trucks, trailers, or containers. Lumping could also be referred to as hand bombing. Lumpers are hired to assist with manual labor tasks, such as unloading boxes of product from a container or trailer, breaking down pallets, sorting and organizing goods.
